Raul Malo Signs With Fantasy Records, Plans Tour

Raul Malo, former lead singer of the Mavericks, has signed with Fantasy Records, the jazz imprint that also served as label home to Creedence Clearwater Revival. His first album for Fantasy includes all-original music and is scheduled to be released in early 2009.

NOTE! I am considering a new CMS (Content Management System) to present the Mavericks information. I do have a lot of info I would like to put on the site, but before I do so I need to know if I have the right CMS. If I go for a change this will lead to a downtime while I recreate the content.
I have been searching the net to find a system that will better suit my purpose. So far I am opting for Drupal. What I need to know is if I by using it can display the photos in a way I can feel comfortably with. For this I will need a 3rd party module. I like Coppermine so I might try to include it my next Mavzone version. Or perhaps I link up to a net based solution like flickr.com? Suggestions?

You will find all kinds of information about The Mavericks. Click Content in menu to the right to get access to know more about the band, the members and touring history. You will also find their discograpy and all the lyrics here. For stuff like videos and tabs and such - click Download.
The site is still being revamped so please be patient if you don't find what you are looking for. I welcome any point of view.

New CD released - in Norway

A new CD under the name of The Mavericks and Raul Malo was released February 2008 in Norway. It is titled Covers and gather covers made by The Mavericks and Raul Malo, hence the name. This means the CD contains songs by Raul Malo solo as well as The Mavericks together. A link to the songlist will follow. This Universal Music Norway release follows a 2004 release named Very Best Of. See the cover photos of Covers and Very Best Of. See Links

Raul Malo's Second Solo Album Arrives in July

Former Mavericks lead vocalist Raul Malo will release You're Only Lonely, his second solo album, on July 25. The project was produced by Peter Asher, who has worked with Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor and Billy Joel, among others. The 11-song album on Sanctuary Records includes one original and several covers tunes, including the title track written by J.D. Souther. Martina McBride provides a guest vocal on Malo's version of Randy Newman's "Feels Like Home."
